Daniel Cook & the B.N.S. Project is an instrumental studio based group developed and recorded at Beyond Notes Studio, LLC, located in Paducah, Kentucky. The majority of the instrumentation is performed by founder Daniel Cook. Special guests are added from time to time. The Project hopes to have some live performances in the near future.
The EP, Messin' Around, consists of 5 tracks from Blues, Jazz, Classic Rock and even a Ballad.
"Messin' Around," is the title song for this album. This is the first original song composed by Daniel Cook. It is a fun, jazzy piece that is written in a conversational style.
"Peaceful Easy Feeling," originally recorded by the Eagles, is the second track on the album. Joining the B.N.S. Project is the founder's daughter, Andie Davis, playing bass.
George Harrison's song "Something," is known as one of the best love songs of all time. Daniel Cook performed and dedicated this song to his wife, Bobbie, on there wedding day. This is the same backing track that was recorded prior to the wedding. The melody was recording in the studio to produce a much better quality sound.
The second Cook original on the album is called "Saturday Morning." It is a basic 12 bar blue pattern with an improvised melody line. Throughout the piece the reoccurrence of the theme, "Saturday Morning" is heard.
The final song on the album, is Elvis Presley's famous song, "Jailhouse Rock." This song was added to the album because it is one of Daniel's father's favorite songs. The lead throughout the piece was performed by Daniel on the trumpet.
All of here at Beyond Notes Studio, LLC, hope you enjoy this album.
